Leapers or Leaper Demons are a type of being spoken of in the myths of Men.[1][UOL 1] They are considered a type of "demon" though what exactly this appellation signifies is unclear.[1][UOL 1] One Leaper was portrayed as a gargoyle,[2][1] though it is unknown if this is what the creature truly looked like.

Leaper Demons are spoken of in a dubious Nordic myth, which portrays the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon as having been the "Leaper Devil King" or "King of Leapers". He was described as benevolent creature who leaped around Skyrim and would preserve pieces of kalpas before they were consumed by Alduin. Though Alduin was said to have eventually cursed the Leaper Demon King to become Dagon, making him unable to leap anymore and forcing him to now destroy all the pieces of kalpas he had once saved.[UOL 1] Other myths portray Mehrunes Dagon as created by the Magna Ge to destroy Lyg in the prior kalpa.[3][4][UOL 2]

Saint Stental was a Breton saint who is best remembered for slaying the demon of Overlook Hill, rescuing the three Sisters of Kynareth from a terrible fate. A memorial, named "The Saint Slays the Leaper", was erected in Stormhaven to honor his courage in 2E 388, which depicts Stental armed with a sword facing the Leaper demon, depicted as a crouched gargoyle.[1][2]
