"Soon Mehrunes Dagon will walk upon Tamriel for the first time since the Mythic Age, and our victory will be complete. Come, my father is waiting to welcome you at Carac Agaialor"
Runa Camoran[1]

Ruma Camoran was a powerful Altmer mage and the daughter of Mankar Camoran. Along with her brother, Raven, she served as a lieutenant in their father's cult,[2][1] the Mythic Dawn—a group of Mehrunes Dagon worshippers responsible for the assassination of Uriel Septim VII in 3E 433 as part of their attempt to bring about the destruction of Nirn.[3] As a daughter of Mankar Camoran and therefore likely a granddaughter of Camoran Usurper she had ties to the royal Camoran Dynasty of Valenwood.[4][5]

My first Daughter ran from the Dagonite roadEdit

"Endeth we seek through our Dawn, all endeth. Falter now and become one with the wayside orphans that feed me. Follow and I shall adore you from inside. My first daughter ran from the Dagonite road. Her name was Ruma and I ate her with no bread, and made another, which learned, and I loved that one and blackbirds formed her twin behind all time."
Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes Book Three by Mankar Camoran[6]

Little is known about Ruma Camoran's past and origins. She was identified as the daughter of Mankar Camoran, leader of the Mythic Dawn cult.[1] Her name is derived from part of the phrase "AE ALMA RUMA" found in her father's Commentaries.[6] It also bears similarity to the name of the Elder Scroll of Alma Ruma.[7]

The Commentaries suggest that the nature of her and her brother Raven's creation was a more metaphysical event. According to them Mankar Camoran's first daughter chose not to follow in his footsteps in worshipping Merhrunes Dagon, and so Mankar cannibalized her and "made another", who embraced the worship of Dagon and thus earned his love. She was thus remade after initially rejecting the Dagonite path, and then "blackbirds formed her twin behind all time".[6] According to some sources Ruma gave birth to herself, and her father was the father. She also gave birth to her brother, but he was not her son.[UOL 1]

Member of the Cult of Mythic DawnEdit

"The Dawn is breaking"
Jearl's Orders by Ruma Camoran[8]

Ruma was an active member of the cult by 3E 433, the final year of the Third Era. She was present at the cult's lair near Lake Arrius, preparing to oversee the initiation, which involved the life sacrifice of Jeelius, an Argonian priest from the Temple of the One.[1][9] During this time, the Hero of Kvatch infiltrated the cult's hideout and stole the Mysterium Xarxes from their possession. The details surrounding the events are unclear, including how the Hero managed to acquire the book.[1][10] There were bardic tales that suggested the Hero used trickery and disguise, but this was believed to be pure speculation.[5] What is certain, however, is that Ruma was killed by the Hero of Kvatch.[11]

She also oversaw the cult's spy activities in Bruma and operations related to the opening of the Oblivion Gates. Ruma gave the order to open the Oblivion Gate near Bruma. One of her agents, Jearl, was instructed by Ruma to spy on the Cloud Ruler Temple alongside Saveri Faram, in preparation for an attack on Bruma.[8][12][13]

Regardless, Ruma eventually returned to Paradise, granted a form of immortality as long as her father remained alive. Mankar's followers would reform in the realm if they ever died, wherever their death took place.[1][11] There, she ultimately faced off against the Hero of Kvatch, fighting alongside her brother and father. She met her end when Mankar Camoran was slain and Paradise began to crumble.[2][14]
